2013: A call to serve and volunteer

JohnSteven113012

Our MAC-AAPM chapter successfully hosted the last meeting in 2012 recently. It was held at the John Steven’s Tavern in Baltimore, overlooking the Fells Point. It was well attended by 24 medical physicists from Baltimore and DC area.

Prof. Mahesh from Johns Hopkins delivered an engaging lecture on radiation dose from therapy procedures. For those of you who missed this talk, Prof. Mahesh has kindly shared the handout and it is available at our library.

Events like this dinner meeting cannot happen without support from chapter volunteers. The chapter is a member-driven organization and we rely solely on our member volunteers to make things happen. As we close this year, we need to start preparing for 2013 and among others this includes electing our new officers for 2013.

We would like to make a formal call to the chapter members to volunteer to serve as chapter officer. We have three officer positions open for 2013 election: the President-Elect, the Secretary, and the Treasurer, and we are calling you to run for these positions. Serving as a chapter officer is a great way to make a difference in our chapter and to professionally network with our fellow medical physicists in our chapter and beyond. Please contact the current chapter officers to express your interest in serving the chapter!
